Jeffrey Jay Foxx

An ethnographic photographer of international repute, Foxx has journeyed around the world for educational publishers and development organizations like the United Nations and the InterAmerican Foundation. One of these assignments led Foxx to focus on the art of the Maya which he has pursued for the last 40 years. He has worked for National Geographic Society and LIFE Magazine, as well as producing three lavishly illustrated books with the prestigious publisher Harry N. Abrams, Inc.

Chiapas Archive

Jeffrey Foxx’s Mexico photographs were donated to the Science Museum of Minnesota, where they now form part of the museum’s Chiapas Collection. This visual archive of a rich culture of weaving adds depth to the collection’s documentation of Chiapas Maya communities and traditions.
